Enhancing quality of life for our residents
The standard of care was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble in making Mum comfortable in her final days and everything was carried out in a thoroughly friendly yet professional manner.”
Our staff are dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where residents can thrive. Knowing that every resident has unique needs, we are proud to offer a range of specialised care services to meet those requirements.
Our team of carers, nurses, and support staff are selected carefully and receive extensive training to deliver high standards of care to meet the needs of our residents in a friendly and professional way, regardless of mobility or capacity. We work closely with a wide range of healthcare professionals enabling changes in health to be responded to quickly and effectively. We are aligned with the Park Farm Medical Centre in Allestree and have an Enhanced Care Practitioner visiting our residents routinely every week.
Infection control is a crucial aspect of care, especially in nursing homes, where residents may be more susceptible to infections due to various factors. Implementing effective infection control measures is essential to safeguard the health and wellbeing of residents and staff. This includes specific acute respiratory infection controls when required.
Nursing
This involves more complex care for residents who require ongoing support with daily activities, and who are experiencing declining health and require monitoring and nursing intervention from a registered nurse. Nursing care involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for residents who may be experiencing illness or injury or require assistance to maintain or improve their health.
Residential
Residential care refers to a type of care provided to individuals who may require assistance with daily activities but do not need the level of medical care provided by fully qualified nurses. This level of care offers a supportive living environment for individuals who may be elderly, have disabilities, or require assistance due to health conditions.
End-of-life
Our end-of-life services are dedicated to providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate support for residents and families, working closely with healthcare professionals to manage symptoms. End-of-life care is tailored to individual needs and can be provided for as long as required, depending on the resident’s health status and preferences. We are proud recipients of the prestigious Derbyshire End-of-Life Quality Award for our outstanding commitment to providing compassionate and exemplary end-of-life care to residents.
Respite/short-stay
Short-term care is ideal for situations such as family holidays, personal breaks, or recovery periods after hospital stays. Our respite care services are flexible, with a minimum term typically ranging from two weeks to a few months, with options available for residents who decide to stay longer term.
Regular daycare
This is designed for individuals who do not require 24/7 care but can benefit from socialisation, activities and support with daily activities during the day. Daycare residents are welcome to join us for meals.
We are not a specialist home registered for the care of those specifically with dementia and mental health needs, however we have dementia awareness. The nursing team would assess any resident living with dementia prior to admission to make sure we can fully meet their needs. If you are unsure about whether our care settings would be suitable, we are very happy to discuss this with you.
