Activities to encourage positive wellbeing
The entertainment programme sets the home apart from other homes we considered. The dedicated entertainment staff do a great job of getting the residents involved in different activities and keeping them moving and engaging in something other than just sitting and watching TV. Overall, the staff all work hard and are friendly.”
Varied Activities
We have a dedicated team of activity facilitators who work across both of our care homes to deliver interesting, stimulating and varied activities throughout the week. Regular events may include visits from singers and stage performers, arts and craft sessions, a baking group, gardening, gentle physical activities including bowls and armchair exercises, quizzes, visits to museums and places of local interest, local parks, pubs, farm trips, the cinema and many more. Activities can take place in group and one-to-one settings.
Links with the local community
We have well-established local community links and continue to build on this. An exciting part of the timetable for all is our regular visit from the local nursery children as part of our FLAGs programme (Friendship and Learning Across the Generations). Our residents are also encouraged to continue enjoying their existing hobbies. If they have a passion for knitting, painting, sketching, jigsaws, board games, crosswords or simply relaxing in a quiet space with a good book or newspaper, our team will be on hand to assist.
Please see our Facebook page to catch up on all the exciting things in which we’ve been involved.
